Explaining equivalent fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers!
Today, students were introduced to the Public Speaking assignment. Each student received an information note today (included below) and we had a lengthy discussion about the expectations. Students received a copy of the rubric which is also included below. Also, students received a graphic organizer to help them plan their speech. Students may choose to use it or not, the choice is theirs. Though we will be discussing appropriate topics and presentation form, the speech will be written completely independently. ![]()
Students will be creating a habitat for a living thing!
Today we discussed what that project will look like and students are asked to bring in all supplies as soon as possible. This is not meant to be a costly endeavour as many of these supplies can be found around the house or garden. The note that went home today is included below: Tuesday, May 24, 2016 Our Habitats Science Test is coming up on Tuesday, May 24. Students have been given a test review (see below) and we have gone over the review item by item discussing the answers and where to find the answers while studying. Students have discussed efficient studying techniques as well. Good luck on the test 4M! Included below are all the relevant pages from the text!
We have begun working with fractions during Math. We have been investigating fractions as parts of wholes, benchmark fractions, and fractions of a set. Students are demonstrating how to find fractions of a set. |
